[glow=red,2,300]Chapter 6-[/glow]
A gust of wind and a faint pop accompanied Voldemort as he rushed into the room several minutes after Bellatrix's arrival. He had needed to calm down. After all, Bellatrix was far to valueable as a Death Eater. It would be a shame to kill her in a fit of rage. Bellatrix alone sat in the room. Aside from a faint beam of light comming from an uncurtained window, the room was dark. Bellatrix sat on a hard wooden chair, head downcast. "Bellatrix!" Voldemort nearly shrieked the name "You have failed me!" His wrath was nearly tangibale.
"I did no such thing, My Lord!!" Bella had much experience passing the blame, and here she would need all of her skill. "It was all Lucius's-."
Voldemort's voice became low and deadly. "But I asked you to watch over him. Did I not ask you this?"
"Y-you did, My Lord..."
Voldemort continued as if she had not spoken. "And what part of my instructions did you not understand?"
"I was fighting Sirius Black, My Lord!!" She was getting desperate. Her eyes grew wild as she looked around for anything to help her out of her situation, she felt as if she were strangling. "I knew not that Lucius did not have things under control!!"
"Yes," Voldemort consented to this statement "Yes, you were. Very noble I'm sure. It was just a matter of priority, really. Fix your own diseased family tree or secure the future of my return. You've made your choice quite clear..."
"You, My Lord!! I have pledged myself to you more righteously and faithfully than any woman to a man in the bond of marriage!! Than any minister to his faith!! Have I not?" Bellatrix asked him.
"Stop." Voldemort said with finality. "You disgust me Bellatrix. You pledge yourself to one thing and just that one thing and then you fail at the only thing that gives your life meaning!"
"If you knew I would disappoint you so, My Lord," Bella asked, genuinely confused. "Why did you give the job to Lucius? Kill me now if you wish. I will die happily." She finished simply, a small smirk on her face.
Voldemort rubbed his temples thoughtfully "You have destroyed quite a lot Bellatrix," He took a deep breath, turning all of his anger into cold fury. Cold fury he could use. The tension in the room hovered like that for a moment, as if on a see-saw, then "Crucio!"
The tingling sensation that began with the curse made her smile. Ah, this feeling. As long as he kept up the spell, she was connected to him. It was not as intimately as she would have liked but still. The pain became more difficult to bear and Bella soon lost her balance. She closed her heavily-lidded eyes as if in concentration as the spell took a turn for the worse, praying he would not be able to break her.
Voldemort recoiled at her perverse behavior. She seemed to be almost enjoying it. "Crucio!" Voldemort said again, strengthing it more. He was curious as to what she could possibly be thinking.
Bellatrix's smile widened. The pain was unendurable but she held up as well as it was possible for her under present circumstances. After all, the only thing that he could harm her with was the obvious displeasure radiating from him, coupled with the confusion. Oh, she could answer all of his questions easily.
fantasyjunkie27 (9:43:36 PM): Voldemort was suddenly livid. "I realize that I cannot break you this way. Perhaps..." he seemed to be deciding something and then he spoke again, raising his wand "Legilimens."
His spell was met with a cry of defense from Bellatrix. "Noooooooooo!!" But she realized she could not stop him. Nor could she fight him.She gave way to the horrors of her life, the beauties of her fantasies and the extacy she lived in while imagining him.
fantasyjunkie27 (9:47:51 PM): Voldemort froze as soon as he entered her innermost thoughts. "Is-is this...true?"
Bella was still on the floor at his feet. Her head was up, but her eyes were lowered, so that she could not see her true expressions. "I-is what true, My Lord?" She asked, feigning innocence.
The Dark Lord sighed "You know very well what I'm taking about, Bellatrix. Do you see me in that light?"
Bella was quiet. Her breathing was heavy and she could still not meet his eyes. She said nothing, knowing that her silence would confirm more than words could.
Voldemort was silent for the longest time. "I have to go," he muttered. He strode quickly out of the old house, leaving instructions to keep Bellatrix in comfinement until his return.
Bella sat alone in the room, never moving from her spot. She closed her eyes and spoke to herself in a chilling whisper, as she used to in Azkaban. Oddly enough, all she wanted was Rodolphus.
Voldemort walked quickly through the nearby village, whose name he had never bothered to learn. His mind was spinning. All he had worked so hard for, undermined by the foolish love of a silly woman. Yet, he knew it wasn't foolish. In Bellatrix's mind he had seen something he had never been confronted with before. Pure love. A part of him wanted to turn away, be sickened by what he seen, but somehow seeing it from the view of a person capeable of love...somehow that changed what was to be seen.
As if on cue, a raspy whisper filled the room. "Bella? Bella are you there?" There was a thud on the door and Rodolphus burst into the room.
Bella looked up. "Rod? Thank Merlin!!" She yelled, running to him and putting her arms around him.
Rodolphus looked around uncomfortabally. "This place," he gasped "Its just like..." he couldn't bring himself to speak the name and trailed off instead.
Bella shook her head. "I know. I know." She whispered, clutching desperately to the front of his robes. Tears, streaking her cheeks and staining the fabric.
Rodolphus' voice broke as he spoke again "I'm so sorry Bella. I couldn't get up here for a few hours, and I'm afraid that I can't take you out. Not until he returns." He held her tightly, resisting the urge to run from that place.
Bella stiffled a sob. "Wha-what are they saying?" She managed to choke out.
His body stiffened in anger. "The Death Eaters? They're saying that you're finished. That he is going to...."
She nodded quietly. "He is. He is...." Bellatrix shook her head. She saw nothing left for her now. "But it... it'll be okay, Dolphy dear." Now she was trying to comfort him. "You won't be tied down anymore... I just hope they don't cast you away in shame for what I did."
Rodolphus shook her off of him. "No," he whispered "Don't say things like that. They can't. He can't. Don't ever scare me like this."
"Rodolphus, I am going to die." She looked him in the face, noticing the tear tracks that met her own. "I won't ever leave this room again and you won't ever see me again. The Dark Lord will continue to reign sucessfully and no one will ever remember my existance." He had to accept it, how else would she ever be able to?
Rodolphus was shaking his head mechanically. "I won't let him. We can go, now!" Even as he spoke the words he saw the foolishness in what he was saying.
"No!!" She shook her head as she spoke. "He will be back soon, just leave Rodolphus. Give Cissy my love..." She pressed her lips to his so hesitantly, nervously. As if she should save her air, because she knew that before long the breath would escape from her lips. "Now go..." She sat back on the floor, her black skirts fanning around her, her head cast down at the foot of his thrown, like someone in mourning of a dead king.
Rodolpus stared at her for a moment. "If this is what you want," he said slowly "then I'll do it. For you." He took one last look at her, and turned from the room, resloving to listen suroptisically outside the door.
